Live Ice Sculpting

Thank you to everyone who participated in First Night Out! This was a true community event that came together quickly thanks to the help of many community groups, local businesses, city officials and awesome residents who stepped up to help make it happen.

More than 500+ residents attended First Night Out even though it was brutally cold out! There was an ice sculptor who turned giant blocks of ice into a surfing polar bear and the Silver Surfer. There were lots of fun activities for the kids including arts and crafts, bowling, face painting and live interactive music. Everyone who came to First Night Out left with a big smile on their face, the businesses had a few more customers that night, and the city officials were pleased. We had such great feedback from the community – it looks like this will become an annual event!

This year we plan to start the First Night Out planning much sooner so we are able to get more businesses and community groups involved to make it a citywide event. It is our hope that this past year was a baby step to a bigger and better First Night Out for 2015.
